Easter in Nebraska

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt never fails to bring the family together, but before we get to it, here are Hailey and Katie in their Easter dresses. (I am still waiting for a pic of Elizabeth in hers.)

The Easter Bunny puts eggs all over the property. Here, Katie is finding eggs on the deck chairs. I don't know who has more fun - the kids or the grown-ups. Ron takes his role very seriously as the official fideographer (and honorary Easter Bunny).

Orron and Irene really enjoyed hunting eggs with Elizabeth this year. She didn't get the whole concept just yet, but it was fun to watch Orron and Irene with her!

Here, Katie and Ron are walking up from the pasture where they were hunting.

Same old story - every year - we can never seem to find all the eggs. We are still missing 6!

Coming soon: Wedding updates!!!

Valentine's Boxes and Cookies

We have set out boxes for each other so we can leave secret Valentines. Here is a pic of Samuel's box.

We also tried to do some heart- and star-shaped sugar cookies so we could give them out to our friends but they didn't really turn out so we decorated them together and we will enjoy them ourselves.

Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

A tribute to the Gunnison chalet

Just wanted to thank everyone for the fun Christmas vacation we got to spend in St. George. Beni and I loved playing with our cousins Boy (Devon) and Morgan. We especially loved being able to visit the chalet one last time. I have so many fond memories of the "cabin" - watching Conference, playing hide-and-go seek and cards, reunions, riding on Grandpa's tractor, and just being with family. Thanks Bo and Grandpa for providing us with a fun place! We will miss Gunnison.

What's up in Provo

So, I know Halloween was forever ago, but here are a couple pictures from it: We had a dragon and Cinderella trick-or-treating with us that night :) The other pictures are BYU's Family Christmas Party (that's where Cosmo comes in), and two pics from a Sunday with family.
We had ourselves a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We spent the day just home together as a little family. I cooked my first turkey (yay, it actually turned out edible!), we had tons of mashed potatoes and gravy, and of course lots and lots of rolls. and we loved just being together. We put up our Christmas tree and decorations that day, and that really got us in the Christmas spirit.
Since then, we've just been plugging away at our lives. Oh yes, I am sad to say that my dream calling came and went: I was the Primary Pianist for two short months. They've called me now to be in the Primary Presidency. It's crazy and fun and I love it, although I really miss being at the piano.
We are so looking forward to spending Christmas with Bo and Grandpa and Travis and Lana down in St. George. We miss you all! Please, please write! We want to know what you all are up to! --Amy v.

Boise Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving here in Boise at Angie's house. Berg and Robyn came from eastern Idaho for the week. We made quite a feast - no turkey, just ham, requested by the pregnant Angie and we ate and ate. Friday, the girls were up by 3:30 a.m. to shop Black Friday sales. (Maija would be proud of our loot.) Later, we went bowling as a family - the kids loved it. Saturday, we saw the Boise parade and watched the BYU game. GO COUGARS!

We missed everyone and are anxious to hear about your holidays!

From Mark & Alison in Sunny North Carolina!!!

We are a growing family, for sure!!!  Tori loves kindergarten, but abby misses her at home.  Mom and Drew are boring.  Drew is now almost 3 months old!!!  I can't believe it.  Abby is learning to talk so well, and her new favorite thing to do is jump.  She "bounces" as she says almost everywhere she goes.  She sure is a funny girl.  Mark still loves his job, Alison is staying busy with embroidering and we sure love it here in NC, but hate to be so far from all of you!!!

Feel free to look at our website to see lots more pictures and updates.

Gerrit and Amy's Fam

Hey, this is so great! Thank you, thank you for making this! Here's our latest:

Gerrit is still working at the library cataloguing rare books, and really enjoys it. He gets to see a lot of books come through that really interest him, so that's fun. He's finishing up his 1st year in his Master's of Library Science degree (he's on a 100% online program, so he can do all his coursework at work or home), so he'll graduate with his degree next December (2008).

I am a full-time mom and I love it. We go to playgroups hosted by the Relief Society, and have several friends just our kids' ages in our ward that we play with as well. We love to go to story time at the library, and it's really nice to have a playground right across the street from our house, so even if Gerrit has the car, we can go swing and slide. I also got my dream calling in our ward! I am the Primary Pianist, and it's awesome. We just our program, and it went really well.

The kids are both doing well. As of two weeks ago, we have two mobile children.

Eve has figured out how to crawl, and is much happier for it, being able to reach the things she wants. And for Samuel, he often goes days with no "accidents" which makes life simply a lot nicer. His newest development is being able to actually recall what happened days ago and give us a pretty good recount.

This is so much fun! I hope we keep it up!
